Fortner Anderson: Vegas

This image is a detail from one of Fortner's collage works entitled "Vegas" (we'll be featuring a second later in this issue). Anderson is one of Canada's best known spoken word artists. His audio work can be found online at the Wired on Words site, where he is described as an "expatriate Tennessee preacher of the millennial news and patron saint of the Montreal Performance Poetry scene."

You can listen to a whole bunch of Canadian spoken word artists on the site, including Corey Frost, Katherine Kidd and Ian Ferrier, all of whom performed in New York City last October as part of the launch of Short Fuse: The Global Anthology of Fusion Poetry (edited by ex-Cordite performance editor Phil Norton and Todd Swift).
